Is it possible for Tyler Murphy to end up at another SEC East school?

First off, how do you think his departure hurts Florida, if at all? It looks like at best he would have been backup to Driskel again going into Spring. Any truth to the rumors that he could end up at TN? Is he eligible to move within conference? I know he just graduated so Muschamp did not have as much leverage on him.

If I remember correctly the SEC changed it so that transfers will have to sit out one year whether they graduated or not, so he can go to Tennessee he would just have to sit out a year.

Thanks, BC. This is what I found on one of the Gator blogs.

Murphy is technically not bound by transfer rules, as he graduated with a bachelor's degree on Saturday, and will be able to play in 2014 at any school that receives him, but Florida could bar him from transferring to specific schools. Holt reports that Murphy was granted his official release on Sunday.

I think he can transfer to another D1 school without sitting out the one year as long as the new institution offers a post grad program that the previous one didn't offer. That's how Wilson went to Wisconsin and that QB that left Oregon and went to Ole Miss (Mosoli I think)!!

Thanks, BB. I know it is wishful thinking on my part that this puts UF in disarray at the QB position. Murphy's announcement comes on the heels of Staver leaving as well. But then they have Grier coming in. Murphy's announcement means seven transfers so far. Addition through subtraction? They still have a lot more talent than most programs, and incredibly, their 2014 class still looks very good.

no he cant transfer to any other sec school without sitting out a year. the sec banned that post graduate loophole. so hes free to transfer to any other fbs program, just not the sec.

UcheaT would find a loophole, just look how they are recruiting this year.

Don't think we are interested.

We are riding Worley/Ferguson/Dobbs battle next year hoping one of Dobbs/Ferguson takes the jobs by the reigns.

If not we are going all out to get a top 5 QB for the next year.

Congratulations to Tyler Murphy on getting his degree. When your playing days are done you will realize that degree from the Univeristy of FLA will make you more sucessful than football ever did. Even though I hate the Gators....its a good school and congrats.
