Panthers’ Captain Munnerlyn takes slight to heart, ball to end zone

I believe there are a lot of Panthers fans on this site, so I bet a lot of you caught Captain last night. It was great to see a strong performance from yet another former Gamecock. As a Sandlapper transplanted to NY, I have to suffer alongside two crappy NFL teams this season.

It was the bow on Munnerlyn’s best game of the season on a night in which he broke the franchise record for most interceptions returned for a touchdown and also had two sacks.

Captain for the Day

“There was a lot of talking out there,” Munnerlyn said. “I was just hitting him every play. I just wanted to get in his head and be real physical. I took that kind of personal that he said we was the weakest link on defense, and we just went out there and executed.”

It does my heart good to see these Gamecocks showing out in the league. I can't wait till the day that ML 38 takes the field!

Not the best passing offense though. Geno Smith? And I have no idea who any of his WRs are, honestly. Great day for Cap but he's going to need to do trying to cover guys like Percy Harvin and Megatron.

Moral of the story, never tell a Gamecock they are below average, or the weakest link. It will comeback to bite ya in the rear. (reference Tajh Boyd calling USC's Dline below average. 2011 season)

You don't know who santonio Holmes is?

I mean he only caught every meaningful pass in the final drive to win Super Bowl 43.

Anyone have a clip of the post-td celebration? That had to be the ultimate dagger.

Just when I think he couldn't possibly impress me any more. What a Gamecock.

Thank you Spurrier for producing all of this talent for us to enjoy. It really is a pleasure to watch these young men grow and turn into pros and then represent the University in such great ways

3rd on the team in tackles, leads the team in pass deflections and tied for the NFL lead for INT's for TD's, OK, who should start?

Lol I'm with you Qc... What are these other guys thinking?? Cap is fantastic and has found his niche as a nickel. He has good ball skills and is a solid tackler. Glad he is a Panther.

This literally makes no sense.
