2013 Christmas Present Thread

The Christmas parties are in full swing now, so if you get any presents you want to show off, post them here.

It isn't limited to Carolina items.

My "gift" won't be here for a couple of months. Our first grandchild, a girl, is due February 23. While not technically a gift there's nothing else that can compare to a new family member.

Getting some more Tumi luggage. Mom goes down to Charlotte to Christmas shop, this year Dad forgot, and was inquiring as to why he got an email about Tumi luggage, her reply "Cause it was going to be a Christmas surprise." Dad turned around and saw me there and replied "Well, I guess he'll act surprised on Christmas." Wooohoo! :P Also means I'm getting a holiday out of it as well, probably London in June.

my wife and I don't really give each other gifts, we don't really need anything...prefer to give the kids stuff. plus if I really want something I will just go get it (to an extent). We would rather save and upgrade our house than give each other something. So we are pricing out how much its going to cost to add heating in the basement and add another room off the basement

Don't think I will get much. My Dad is always great & gives us some money (I throw it into savings for the inevitable rainy day). Bought my wife a few things, of course my daughter gets the truck load. What I really wanted (mind you I am 43 years old) was a remote control helicopter to mess with my dogs (chihuahuas). Thought that would be a blast.

(think I can use any more of these ()

Got some boxers and shot glasses. In my family we don't really buy for the adults, just the kids. That said, I dropped about 3 grand on my car over the last couple months, so Merry Christmas to me :)

So far a giant stainless steel mixing bowl, some whiskey stones, a gift card to Bed Bath and Beyond, and a Christmas Story leg lamp ornament for the tree.

Got this message from The Universe this morning. In my best Bill Murray Caddyshack voice, I've got that going for me.

Quote:

If it's not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and all seasons, is you, Yancey. A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life's prayer of becoming and its answer. The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in seas of blessed emotion.

A pioneer into illusion, an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.

To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit; to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity - traits of the immortal - your badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as what we feel for you.

Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits, and already your life has changed the course of history.

This is the time of year we celebrate Yancey.

Bowing before Greatness,
The Universe

One of my customers gave me $100. I was very appreciative! In fact, that was the only gift I got this year.
