Yeh but I could see why, no one wants a crazy fan of the opposing team running out and stabbing players or something.

Miss St. got fined a whopping total of 25k for a season's worth of cowbells

Don't be so sure...

Just remember, any rule that seems dumb in the SEC is in place to ensure LSU fans don't do whatever the rule prevents. When aTm joined the conference they asked to keep the student section behind the visitors bench, Slive said no. Could you imagine those drunk Cajuns behind opposing players?

Should be an NCAA rule.

I think we got fined several years ago when our fans ran on the court after a basketball game or two.....5,000 and 10,000 if I recall.

I think the last time was in 2010 when we beat #1 UK, if I remember correctly one of the UK players took a swing at a fan after the game (Demarcus Cousins I think)

Re: Ole miss, auburn, and Missouri fined

Cousins didn't really take a swing but there was an altercation for sure. That was the last time we were fined. My best basketball game experience (obviously) as a student. I was very close in the corner, so I could actually hear and watched Downey tell the security to let the students on the court. Such a great game and memory.

We beat Kentucky when they were #1, so it was well worth it!

Is there any truth to what I heard posted here recently about:

1) Clemson's band playing short, repetitive pieces of some kind of music when the opponent's offense comes to the line (to help disrupt cadence and make it difficult to hear the quarterback)

and

2) Something about Clemson or Clemson fans setting off strobe lights to blind or distract players?

These seem like tactics that Bill Belicheck or Ron Meyer would think up.

Why? I think the rule is stupid.

I dunno about #1, but #2 I have seen on TV. The ribbon boards around their stadium would be strobing while the other team's offense is on the field.

Fans have no business on the field during or after the game.

At the Carolina - Clemson game this year at Willy B I had the pleasure (sarcasm intended) of sitting two sections over from the band. They were playing their instruments (mainly just making noise) to distract our offense and continued to do so right up until the ball was snapped. Obviously it was a super busch league move by Clemson, but what do you expect?

Yes safety is completely idiotic...
