Panthers to Super Bowl XLVIII?

I know playoffs haven't started yet, but at this point, does anyone see panthers making it all the way? With the way they played yesterday (especially at the end) I think they can compete with anyone,

They had what 110 yards in the second half at home. I'm sure everyone is trembling in their cleats thinking about the panthers. One drive does not make a playoff run. I'm not saying they won't go because stranger things have happened. The Giants winning a few years ago for example, but them scoring one TD in the second half on a play that the Saints DE had an open shot at Newton and whiffed doesn't scream playoff run.

anything could happen, but a road playoff game in Seattle is a tough task...

They have just as much as a chance as Seattle does.

Well Seattle's got the best home field advantage in football, so I wouldn't say that.

Statistically he is correct. They have a 1 in 6 chance of making it to the Super Bowl. Just like Seattle.

You mean zero 3rd down conversions?

I don't see the panthers making it. If they do make it, it will be because of the D not Cam. That D is what has made them good this year, not some BS about Cam's coming to age; tired of hearing that narrative on the radio.

Unfortunately no. They don't have the offense and their D can only carry them so far.

Plus Steve Smith sprained his PCL yesterday. Need to get him back for the playoffs.

If the defense can play like it has the last two weeks, and the offense can figure out what the heck it wants to do, its possible. Mike Shula's game plan, and play calling Sunday was awful.

Uphill battle, but I would love to see Cam Newton get a ring

Well, there's a chance. Right now I would be more worried about winning v Atl next week and trying to get a bye.

knew it would come.....you havent watched his games this year.....and thats just the truth

D has been out of this world, but to say Cam's coming of age is BS shows me you havent watched him play this year....and dont bring up stats, b/c Cams stats will be the worst of his 3 years prb, but when you watch him this year you can tell he is playing vastly different than what he was

Re: Panthers to Super Bowl XLVIII?

Panthers have beaten the Pats, Niners, and Saints. Had a good chance against the Seahawks, but Dwill fumbled on the (SEA) 2 yard line on a key drive at the end of the game. Cam has lead some game-winning drives (like yesterday), and the team has won some games in the 4th (instead of blowing them pitifully like last year). They can hang with anyone in the league. That doesn't mean they'll win, but they do have a shot. Agree with Regal. With S Smith's situation, we need that bye really bad.

^^ This. He's obviously matured, and has been clutch in some big games. He was also banged up yesterday, and playing conditions were bad. Lol @ comment you quoted.

You kept saying how great he was the first two years and to look at his stats proved it, but yet now when he has "mature" his stats are the worse but he is so much better. How does that even make sense? You can't argue to have it both ways. So which is it, was he overrated for 2 years and inflated stats or is he ok now but winning do to D?

It pretty clear to see the difference in the team is the D not Cam. They didn't beat the Saints because of Cam but because the D kept them in it until the O finally got a TD drive against an average D. It doesn't make the panthers a bad team that they rely on the D but just be honest about what makes them good.

You really should watch the games, you might learn something

Cam has 4 game winning drives this year: SF, NE, Mia, and NO

Yea, he is terrible
