Minda Kacinas

Is anyone else surprised that Frank has turned him into a post player? This guy was a sweet shooting wing player before coming to Carolina and now he is a gritty undersized post player who cleans glass. I find his development to be somewhat a headscratcher. I figured it would've been him, not Carrerra, that got moved to the 3 spot.

After last season, I'm not surprised. Kacinas doesn't have the foot speed to be a traditional small forward. I wouldn't call him a "banger," but his rebounding, effort and toughness is a better fit in the paint.

But that has taken away his perimeter shooting which is something that this team really lacks. Maybe he'll get more opportunities his junior and seniors seasons. To me though it seems like he is shooting is wasting away in the post.

Same thing with Chatty. He has shown that he has some range but we hardly ever see it.

I think we would be a lot more diverse with our bigs pulling opposing teams bigs out of the paint and let our guards get to the basket.

Yeah, I've seen Chatkevicius make 3's in shootaround with ease. He doesn't have a bad stroke at all. In the games, he doesn't seem to have good shot selection with his jumper or the same confidence. The same applies to Kacinas and I think that's why Frank gets on them for their offense.

I don't think he minds them shooting, but it has to be in the flow of the offense. If we can run some pick and pop or drive/kick action, then they shouldn't hesitate if they have space. Frank won't bench you if you miss a wide open shot within the flow.
