I've played some DayZ. It's pretty tough. You start with nothing and people just kill you once you have some supplies and then you have to start all over.

It does look intriguing...I'm all about open world games and have some MMORPG experience but never got into WoW --- I grew tired of Everquest when they went to EQ2 and haven't really done any MMORPG since.

Before I drop 30 bucks though, how bad is it with experienced, well equipped players stealing all you have? I can imagine that would get frustrating after a couple times. Is the world big enough to avoid loot stealers or is it just part of the game?

I managed to not spend $30. ARMA was on a mega sale in a steam bundle so that's how I picked it up. Not even sure if I played the same version of the game or not. My experience was that it was very difficult to even find food and water to get going. By the time you got that far you were pretty lucky if you had found a gun and your ammo was very limited. By that point you were probably getting shot from somewhere. Another thing that can happen is you sneaking around zombies and some dick just runs through and stirs them all up and then you get stuck with 5 zombies chasing you and no defenses.

I'm waiting for the Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG. I've been beta testing it and have enjoyed that play a lot. It comes out in April.

It's devolved into a shitfest of shoot on sight, all the time, every time. Gotta remember, it's only in Alpha right now so the devs might do something to change that in the future, or they might even like it, comparing it to how it might actually be if it went down in real life.

If you play, always run with a group of friends. If you're alone someone will kill you on sight, guaranteed.

Yea, I'm waiting on that too - for some reason, the beta worked the first day it was open but I've not been able to get back in since but haven't tried since the Christmas break....I'll definitely be on that come April, if not before.

It's high time I re-invested in a solid gaming PC. Any recommendations on a good site for bang-for-buck gaming PC? I really don't want to go the Best Buy route.....and console gaming is starting to get a little stale - next gen consoles included.

Best bang for your buck is to build it yourself. It's not as hard as you might think and you will spend way less. You just have to do a bit of research to decide which parts to buy and have the patience to put it together. You know on old TVs they always had the cable jack sunk into a little hole that wasn't quite big enough for you to really fit your fingers in to screw it in? Building a PC is like doing that 50 times.
