I wonder if it's Myrtle Beach? That's close to where the pin is on the map.

For me, that would still be embarrassing.

I think the UFO Welcome Center and spaceship in Bowman, SC should be our landmark.

Well, it's not Death Valley, cause that's in Louisiana.

I guess the Statue of Liberty is not considered a "major landmark".

It would obviously be "Jimmy Carter's" if they hadn't closed the place up. :(

Nevermind it was scarry that it dropped, but the core wasn't in it when it dropped. This story was handed to me falsely . Mom said it didn't go off but was a live nuclear bomb, but the article below said it did, but didn't do much damage because of the nuclear core not being in the bomb.

Mars Bluff in Florence County

To me it looks like South of the Border.

I really hope that's not the landmark depicted for our state, but I don't live far from there. There are two parts to the bomb, the regular ole explosive part and the nuclear part. The nuclear part wasn't armed, the other was. It did a number on the house. The guy whose property it was passed away not too long ago if I recall.

Anyway, South Carolina has numerous landmarks, too many to name but here would be my top 5 if someone were to visit:

1. Fort Sumter
2. Camden Revolutionary War Park
3. Georgetown landing (George Washington landed on his southern tour as newly elected president)
4. State House
5. USS Yorktown

There are just so many, but those span a good deal of American and state history.
