What do you think is the biggest offseason question?

Nationally it will be who wins the QB job. It is DT's to lose but I think Mitch has a shot.

The most pressing question I think is who is going to be in our very young and shallow secondary?

Are we going to start having Cromer's boiled peanuts at the games again? I hate those stupid pre-made packs

I asked the question on the Assistant coaches thread of why people thought the special teams struggled. Two different people said they didn't really know for sure, but that it is rumored Spurrier spends less time practicing that part of the game than other coaches.

If true, it might not matter who we hire or fire, it might just mean we need to dedicate more time to that.

The dline rotation should be interesting to watch as well. Lots of production leaving that unit.

This is a curiosity b/c the ST coach, Kirk Boykin, is one of the highest paid coaches @ 350 grand?

And he was the 2010 ST Coordinator of the year with good success at LSU. So...something is going on.

Re: What do you think is the biggest offseason question?

Biggest offseason question will be who wins the backup QB job. Dylan is a lock to be QB1, hes earned it and knows the system inside and out.

Second will be Dline and CBs. Who will be in the two deep rotation on the D line and who is going to step up and generate a pass rush. Whammy may have to start bringing more blitzes now that we no longer have Clowney and Quarles. CB situation speaks for itself. We may very well have two true freshman starting at that spot when we open against A and M.

That fact makes generating a pass rush all the more vital to help disguise some of the mistakes the young secondary will make. Im ready to see who steps up on the D line to win the starting jobs

Re: What do you think is the biggest offseason question?

Will we develop a dominant run-blocking line?

If we want to win the SEC (not just the east), we have got to develop running lanes that don't disappear when we are up against tough opponents.

Mike Davis should win the rushing title for the SEC but if we let the lanes get clogged like we did this year, it ain't gonna happen.

Other item: Will Dylan's accuracy and consistency improve?

Will we have new leaders step up and replace the old ones and drive the team during winter workouts?

A.) Not the special teams coach

B.) Not the name of any coach on staff at USC.

We have some amazing recruits coming in at DB, still waiting on another. Secondary will be young, but if they improve like the LB's did this season, we have nothing to fear. What I do fear, is Special Teams. They need to get on the bandwagon, and start playing some big boy football.

Botkin's the LB Coach.

Joe Robinson is the ST Coach. And he got the smallest raise out of all of our Assistants.

The team is limited to a certain amount of practice time a week, and the HBC seems to want to spend that time on offense and defense, not ST's.

I agree that it needs work, but it's a vicious cycle, you can't improve it if you can't practice it, and you can't practice it if you don't have time for it.

Two questions.
One, secondary.
Two..WR...we know Damiere is a deep threat...Nick Jones can be a short route guy..is Shaq Roland the No. 1 guy? Also, how does Pharoh Cooper progress, and which young guy (Jeffery, Smith, Fuller) steps up? Also, will we get a bigger season from our TEs and will they combine to be that other receiving option to go with Roland, Byrd, Jones and Cooper?

Without Connor Shaw's legs to cover for them, will our O-line become horribly exposed as the under-achieving unit it really is?
