Now the NFL knows what Gamecocks everywhere have known since 2009.

Congratulations, Alshon!!

Alshon is really making a name for himself. I hate to see Sidney Rice plagued with injuries, but so far Alshon is standing out as an NFL great. Soon Lane Kiffin will be pumping Alshon some gas to get to the NFL Hall of Fame if he keeps up this kind of outstanding play.

True, but Rice has always been brittle

I wonder if rice would do well with a thicker body?

He does need to add at least 10-15 pounds to that frame. Alshon is such a big body that it is hard to bring him down, but his nose for the ball is what impresses me so much. He could have 5 defenders around him and still catch the ball. Just like the halftime TD catch at the Capitol One Bowl a few years back.

While that maybe true, has either of his major injuries have any relation to size?

Not that I can put together. No. But he does need to bulk a bit, his frame says slot receiver but his abilities scream number 1 guy.

Yep... He just finally got some balls thrown his way and was able to show what he can do. Nothing to improve on. Just throw the ball in his general direction and he'll go get it. Pretty simple really.

"Most improved player"... Just a way to give the pundits cover for not recognizing his abilities sooner. Typical CYA from a bunch of pencil neck writers who were critical of him early on.
