2015 - Kyra Lambert

She is a 5 star PG from TX and she is down to Stanford, Duke, Ohio State, Colorado, and South Carolina.

Good article on her, 4.1 GPA and is planning to study International Business or Engineering.

#6 prospect in the 2015 class

Also in the 2015 class I'm pretty sure there was an article within the past month or two that Dawn is going after #1 prospect in the 2015 class Asia Durr and we are in her top 13 finalists

She must really want to go out of state with two really good women's basketball teams in Baylor and A&M in state.

Re: 2015 - Kyra Lambert

If she really wants to major in IB , we've got a shot . Engineering , it will probably be one of the others .
By the way , remember Kayla Brewer , who transferred from South Carolina to Texas . This was shortly after Kelsey bone transferred and was supposed to be a sign of impending doom for the South Carolina program . Brewer was also very good academically . She played very little for two years at Texas but got her degree . She is a grad student now at Tennessee Tech , playing for former Clemson coach Jim Davis . Not starting for them either .

International Business? She will be a Gamecock. Bank on it.

Can she jam a receiver? We need a cornerback

Yeah, makes me think we already go to her.

I don't know if we are shopping for any more bigs. Would like to have her, but don't you think she would got to UNC with her HS teammate?

Absolutely no idea, Read. Just doing a little on-line shopping. What I would really like to get? Another make-it-rain zonebuster. Maybe KD can do that for us on down the road if she continues to develop her outside shot.

LOL, Luke, guess interest is in the eye of the beholder. I was looking at the Super 60.
Don't think Kyra will need to go to UNC & take those "special" classes tho. From the looks of things she appears to be a very bright young woman.
Also think her big sis gave her some good advice.

Her teammate is #4 Te'a Cooper 5'8 PG committed to UNC.

Kyra's list is down to: USC, Stanford, Duke, Colorado, and OSU. Since academics is her thing, I guess Stanford and Duke are our main competition. I like our chances with our #1 International Business program, she says she wants to world travel and she can make more money playing BB over seas. Also Staley has been successfull reaching into the Texas - Oklahoma area recently. She probably has some good relationships out there.

Right on, Read. Add to that Dawn's spreading rep as a person, coach & former player. No wonder young women countrywide are taking notice of us.

And I love knowing that another one of America's legends has become an institution at South Carolina.

Took forever & a day, but the wait was worth it, and the stars, they are aligning... Hope He'll wait for me a little longer. Guess Ray spoiled me & I wanna see us win a few more Nattys. Which sport?? LOL. All of 'em.

Re: 2015 - Kyra Lambert

Because Shakayla Thomas chose FSU over USC, we'll have one single scholarship spot available for the 2015-16 class....unless Wilson chooses someone else other than USC or any of the returning scholarship players chooses to leave early. So it looks like whoever gets it will be a PG, which makes sense. Asia Durr or Kyra Lambert: come on down!

Oops, nevermind: I got my classes and years mixed up. Next season (2014-'15) we'll have only one scholarship spot left - we have two right now but are looking to fill one with Aja Wilson. Don't know if we fill the other this late stage.

In 2015-'16 both Welch and Ibiam will graduate after 2014-'15, so then we'll have 3 total spots, or 4 if Wilson chooses someone else (let's hope that doesn't happen!). So BOTH Asia and Kyra, come on down!!!!

Te'a's sister Mia Cooper was supposed to come to USC as part of Alaina Coates' 2013 class, and be a true freshman G this season, but her academics weren't good enough....

Gaines is a junior as well so there are 3 graduating that year

Te'a decommitted from UNC though they are still strongly among her Top 10 schools under consideration. Tennessee seems pretty high. USC is also in her final 10 but likely not as high up (my assumption since we don't hear her name connected to USC). Her sister Mia apparently isn't playing basketball anymore.
