11-1 in November. Didn't realize that. Used to dread November for Gamecock football.
Connor Shaw = Gamecock.

Great video. I have never dove that deep into the stats, but I do recall thinking before this video he did a good job sharing the ball, with many different receivers.

the career records he now holds didnt already have a spot on the ramps, but ive got to imagine theyre going to put one up for him by the spring game. his td's responsible for and starting qb wins would look nice.

I HONESTLY believe that is the single biggest reason for the change in
Gamecock football to the better "pre Shaw vs during the past two and
a half seasons. Garcia, Smelley, Mitchell used to rely way too much on the
Number one receivers like Rice, McKinley, Jeffery and underused the rest
of the WRs and RBs. If you think back at what happened THE VERY GAME
that Shaw took over against UK, we started to see big pass plays happen
with guys like Nick Jones, Rory Anderson, Justice Cunningham, and even
more passes to underneath coverages, like Kenny Miles, Marcus Lattimore
and the other RBs / TEs. ... Spreading the ball around is the sign of a
QB who plays with his head, and not with his arm. Taking what is there
vs throwing it to the "go to" guy in tight coverage and hoping he'll make
another big play. Shaw took Phil Petty's kind of leadership to the next
level and utilized the better talent, and speed that Petty didn't have, but
tried to make do when he was the QB here...... Shaw was not "flashy"
nor did he put up unbelievable stats every year, but very quietly put
together record setting numbers for South Carolina Football when it was
all said and done. Steady, Smartly and workman like he ended as the
best that ever led a Gamecock offense.

I noticed this as well, before Shaw led the offense, I can remember screaming at my TV or the game, that that guy was wide open! When Shaw took over, not only did he get it to the number one receiver, but some of his best pass plays went to guys that don't always get the ball. Good thing is, I have noticed that Thompson does the same thing as well. He seems to favor Jones, but hey they did play high school ball together.

Sadly as our team gets better those records will be broken, mostly due to the time he spent out injured early on, but He should always be remembered as the guy who turned it around for Gamecock football.

9-3 against teams that finished in the AP Top 25. Can't imagine many QB'S out there are much better than that.

Nice job on that video. Great graphical presentation of the statistics. Anyone know what software they used to create the info graphics and special video and sound effects?

How do you teach smarts? Maybe that's what Connor's Williams Brice banner should read, "Connor Shaw - South Carolina's most intelligent quarterback ever!"
