The Beatles (white album)

I got this yesterday in the remastered version. It sounds incredible.

There are some very amazing songs on that album. Mostly by John Lennon and George Harrison. It seems like the two of them started to "break out" and become solo artists at that time.

This is a good one:

A little different version of my favorite Harrison song.

And, because Paul gets no love in the OP:

I remember the day that came out. We lined up to buy it. Blew our minds.

George has grown to become my favorite Beatle, very humble and very underrated.

I love that thing in Martha My Dear that Paul does with his voice when he sings "look what you've dooooone". It's such a cool melody. That guy could write the most perfect pop songs with zero effort. Dude is one talented as hell songwriter

My absolute favorite album by the Beatles and my favorite song is "Rocky Racoon"! Also is the only song I will ever sing for karaoke.

I don't sing much karaoke... Lol

Dietz that song is so cool. There's no other song by anyone that sounds like that. It's unique

Loved that song as well !

My favorites on the White Album though were Dear Prudence and While
My Guitar Gently Weeps.

The White Album is definitely the Apex Album of the Beatles brief time together.
If not THE Best, Absolutely one of the top 5 Rock Albums ever recorded.

Really dig Harrison's, All Things Must Pass, a friend gave me his copy for a wedding gift because there are songs on there that brought my wife and I together that we played at our wedding.

It's amazing to think that band was only together and in the public eye a little over six years. What they accomplished in six years seems like 100.

You guys have excellent taste in Beatles music. Discovered this album in college and it quickly became my favorite Beatles album. Long, long, long and I'm so Tired are probably my favorites off the album. There is also something very comforting about Ringo's lullaby song at the end.

Always been my favorite Beatles album. Been listening to it since I was knee high to a grasshopper. When I was child I always wanted to hear "Rocky Raccoon". So many great tunes on this album. One of top 5 greatest albums of all-time.

Most of the generations of people that came along after 60s, never realized
from just the music what kind of influence The Beatles had on Rock Music
(hell, even music in general). It wasn't just about the music they recorded,
but it was about "The Look", "The Attitude", "The Technology", "The
Art of Writing Songs" etc.... In That short time, the Beatles evolved
and morphed their look and their style of music three / four times, and
each time they changed, the world of music followed in their wake. They
wrote hit songs in what started out as Pop/Rock, Then Rock a Billy, and
then Psychedelia. Six years in the spotlight, but that short six years have
made them and their music immortal.

Although I have a respect and admiration for the George and John songs, I think it's actually Paul's bass that holds this whole album together. His bass in "everybody's got something to hide" really drives that song. His low rumbling bass in "long long long" is the anchor for the whole track. And his bass line in Dear Prudence is absolutely amazing

Yup. It is still mind boggling to me that the white album took like 4 months to write, record, produce, and release. That is amazing. Four months is nothing
