This list made no sense, except for Clowney being #1

There is NO freaking way Manti Te'o is one of the top 10 of all time. Thats ridiculous.

Yeah I nearly choked on my coffee from laughter when I saw that.

Considering they had him ranked 2nd in the entire 2009 class and he had a very good college career, it's not a stretch at all.

His imaginary girlfriend, would beg to differ on that assessment.

I agree considering Luke Kuechly did more in 3 years. Seriously 532 tackles in 3 years? :

Luke Kuechly
Boston College | OLB | Class of 2009 rank: NR

RecruitingNation scouting report: Difficult to find many physical flaws in Kuechly on film, and you actually see how well-rounded of a linebacker he is the more you watch. Is far from done physically developing as his tall, rangy, well-built frame should continue to add good bulk and tip the scales at the 240-pound range in college while retaining his current speed and athleticism. Full report http://assets.espn.go.com/i/in.gif
College accolades: Winner of the Butkus, Nagurski and Lombardi Awards. Two-time first-team All-American. Career statistics (3 years): ACC-record 532 total tackles, 3 sacks, 7 INTs.

Pretty sure this is as recruits, not as college players.

That literally makes no sense. They've already judged the kids as recruits, thus their original rankings. This has everything to do with being college players.

Everything? It says they blended what they know now with what they knew then. So, yes, it does take into account what they did as college players, but it also includes the recruiting aspect of it.

I'd love to know the formula they use to change a players rank based on stats that haven't changed since the initial rankings.

Manti Te'o didn't even rank in the top 50 among the LB's his SR year, yet he went to a Heisman ceremony. He made some INTs and got some PR, that is all. Look what happened when he was stacked against others at his position at the combines.

so we have determined that these rankings are nothing more than a popularity contest?

I totally agree.

There are a few head scratchers on this list.

Two things I notice with this list. How the heck is Cam Newton 27th? He was unstoppable in college. And number two, one thing this shows me is, more often than not, the high ranked players turned out darn well.

You're off buddy. Manziel was a 3 star and #22 on this list. Again, this list makes no sense.
