Don't Hate The Player, Hate The Game.

Guy is using game theory to rule Jeopardy. Rock on Arthur!

FYI, game theory is the study of decision making; a sub sect of economics you could say. Heavily influenced by the work of Dr. Nash, who you saw Russell Crowe play in, "A Beautiful Mind".

Actually I would think that would hurt your score if you're making it a true Daily Double, since getting it earlier in the game would mean less money to double.

Irregardless, no matter what strategy you employ you've still gotta know a lot of stuff and question the answers right ;-)

but it is also less money to lose if you get it wrong...plus you are taking away your opponents chance of using it to catch up with you later in the round.

Correct for $200.

It's not just the looking for daily doubles. If you take the big money questions off the board early you take away opportunity for people to make a comeback. Also jumping around can take people out of a rhythm.

Haha that was entirely intentional - a friend in college used to get ultra upset when I said that so I've used it ever since  And it should be worth at least $1,000

And good points as far as keeping your opponents down; I'm just looking at it from a "maximum cash for ME!" standpoint

By getting them early when he is up, he takes the choice away from others later which makes it less likely for them to catch up.

He was interviewed and said that actually hit a Daily Double in the Sports category and only bet $5 because he knew that he wouldn't know the answer
