Connor booed at upstate Christian concert

Classy taters. Love Connor's response.

Connor Shaw was just introduced at Winter Jam. Christian concert in Greenville. Got booed. Threw up the five. Classic

So goes Clem5on. I assume they followed up the "boos" with some "hoos."

Just curious, what kind of reception would Whitehurst get at a concert in Columbia?

cant speak for everyone, but at a christian concert/festival, where its safe to assume 99% of the people there are sober, there would be one or two immature tailholes, but I (and I would hope the vast majority of people there) would give light applause or keep quiet.

remember this isnt a nelly or beiber concert, the expectations of the audience should be different

It's not like this concert was in Clemson; it was in Greenville. I'm sure everyone didn't boo. I've got some people there now; I'll know later what actually happened.

I guess the proof is in the pudding.

Good for Connor, 5 Bomb them all. They hate you drop the 5.

I wonder if by "five" they mean he waved.

Definitely 5. I saw him in a few pictures with friends of mine continuing to flash the 5.

Shows where their priorities are.

Re: Connor booed at upstate Christian concert

I've told the story here quite a few times as to why, once I started pulling
for South Carolina, I grew to despise Clemson and most of their fans. I
grew up in Simpsonville and in and around Greenville. Both sides had their
"rude" crowds, but BY FAR, Clemson fans were extremely hateful and
obnoxious to be around. ... When I tell Clemson fans about my younger
days up there, they tell me that I am making most of it up, or exaggerating
the extent of it, and tell me the 90% of the Clemson fans are respectful
and classy people. ... They can say that all they want to, but 48 years of
living in that area, and being a Gamecock fan for 37 years of that 48, I
KNOW what their general fanbase is like and this right here is a PRIME
example of it.

Just got home for WinterJam. It was awesome!!

Annoucer says he's got someone special who wants to introduce the next artist(Lecrae). Shaw steps up as the announcer says something like "Please welcome the quarterback for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, Connor Shaw! Most of us cheered, but there were quite a few boos as well. As soon as he heard the boos, he throws up the 5 with one hand and points to it with the hand holding the mic and says something like "Don't we serve a great God? I'm so happy to be back in South Carolina here at WinterJam."

Then he introduces Lecrae.

Like I said, most of us cheered wildly. There were some boos from the Clemmers, but a lot more cheers, I thought.

sure the same could be said for any group of people claiming a moral superiority based on their belief that they should live their lives by a particular moral code based on their book of religious text. the equivalent could be said for muslims or sikhs. but you're not going to find a group of sikhs having a concert in upstate sc and acting a fool, so the comments "christians..." and "the proof is in the pudding" are appropriate.

this is almost like saying a concert in irmo isnt a concert in cola so you should be ok.....

just pick up a greenville news one day and you will see.....Greenville = Clemson

I can speak for Spurt on my generation, I'm 24 and grew up around Newberry and partied around G-Vegas. The Taters around there are just unreal, they seem to think we all owe them everything that has to do with football. I have had some tell me without Clemson we dont get Spurrier, that he came here to beat Clemson. I kid you not that is how highly they think of themselves in that area of the state. Not all of them but a good majority of them.
