Beatles Special

Anybody watching this ? I was but a wee lad when they were the cutting edge of music, but they have influenced me, even in ways that I couldn't imagine.

Old enough to remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show that night, vividly. Almost all you heard was screaming from the girls in the audience.

I have it being recorded right now, will watch it later to avoid the insane amount of commercials I am sure a special like this will bring.

It was pretty awesome with the exception of Katy Perry.

I wasn't alive then and didn't see it last night. However, pretty cool that this event happened on my birthday!

I heard that fans of the Beatles wouldn't be happy with her, but didn't find out why. Did she cover a song in a crappy manner?

Wife liked her, I did not. I don't think she did justice to the song. One heck of a jam session and a great program. Except for Tom Hanks bobbing and weaving.

Remember when they came to Willie B?

I really enjoyed it. I hadn't listened to music in a while, but really enjoyed that last night. They really were incredible of you listen to the different types of songs that they made. I don't think I ever was a big fan, but they did so many different types of songs well...you have to give them their due.

Yoko was cracking me up. She looked like an out of control muppet. Surprised Paul didn't deck her.

Everyone will jump my case for it, but if only John Lennon could have been there. Idk, about the rest of you, but i am tired of idiots taking away our most talented Individuals only for us to say wow if only we did this.. etc.

I miss them all as a group but before his death, Lennon was on to something!

Her cover of 'Yesterday' was so bad the hair stood out on the back of my neck. I'm sure you can find it via Google.

I was amazed at how good those songs, some of them 50 years old, are still today. From I Saw Her Standing There to Hey Jude, they hold up.

Maroon 5 was really good, so were John Legend and Keith Urban. Katy Perry was out of her league. McCartney still has a great voice.

It was cool to see these big stars genuinely in awe of Paul and Ringo.
