Jeep, FJ or Truck?

I have a 2009 4 door F150. I am trying to decide if I would be happy with a FJ or Jeep Wrangler. I like to hunt and those types of things. Any ideas anyone have a new FJ or Jeep or should I just keep my truck? Thanks.

Keep the truck. Buy an old POS to take in the woods hunting.

Jeeps have been getting just awful reviews and ratings.

A Jeep was rated SUV of the year, literally this year. The Wrangler has the same 3.6 that's in my car, my dad's car, my sister in law's minivan, and every single other Chrysler product with a V6. The mechanicals are virtually bulletproof.

if you want it for hunting and normal off-roading, keep the truck and get a Cherokee with the 4.0 I6. Those things are damn near indestructible. You can find them all day for $1500-3000 in great shape, and if you decide to lift or anything like that, it's rather cheap to do since the aftermarket is so big.

Not only is the 4.0 damn near indestructible but it is super easy to work on when need be

Yep, sure is. We replaced the starter on one friend's last night. Factory one lasted 180k miles and finally locked up.

Personally, I have a grand cherokee 4wd with the Hemi V8 and it goes everywhere I need it to with ease. No mechanical problems but I have taken extra good care of this one including all major maintenance / scheduled service. Going on a 150k and still purring like a kitten. Most people that have Jeeps with issues don't take care of them.

I would think FJ vs Jeep would be a no-brainer by just looking at who makes both. But isn't the FJ a lot more money?

hell I know people who abuse the hell out of their jeeps and they've yet to have a problem. The suspension, steering, or something like that will go out before the engine and drivetrain do.

Keep the truck.

Better yet, get a Tundra.
