Let's hope our 5 guys perform well.

Manziel is doing everything but throwing. Maybe he's trying to get drafted as a WR......lol. He'll throw on their pro day.

Big weekend for Connor. Don't think I could have imagined him being in the combines 4 years ago. Dude has worked hard and has elevated his game.

Hope he kills it!

Really excited to see what Connor can do! I believe that Bruce will be Bruce and be consistently excellent. I hope that JD shows out. I feel better about KQ than Vic, but we'll see. Should be gripping drama! lol

Blake Bortles took a slight gig at JM saying he's looking forward to the Combine, especially throwing.

A week after promising he would measure "72 inches on the dot" at the NFL Scouting Combine, quarterback Johnny Manziel came up just short of the mark in the official measurement early riday morning.
The former Texas A&M quarterback many expect to be taken in the top three picks in the NFL Draft, came in at 5--foot-11 3/4, and weighed 207 pounds, according to NFL Media analysts Gil Brandt and Daniel Jeremiah.

I think Manziel will go pretty high but not #1. With the obsession over QB height, how can you draft a guy first overall that is under 6 ft.

I think the Texans should draft anyone BUT JM with his comments saying that it would be the biggest mistake they've ever made if they didn't draft him.

Seen where Jacksonville is looking at Shaw.

I think Manziel, Bortles or Teddy will go #1.

Although you never know, no one saw Eric Fisher going number one at this point last year.

Don't discount the fact that he played college ball at Texas A&M. He would put butts in the seats at Houston.

Personally I would take Manziel over Bridgewater...although I would take Clowney before either of them.

I read a few of the scouting reports on NFL.com by Nolan Nawrocki. Few things I learned from reading just a few:

-he gives Blake Bortles the highest grade.
-consider's our Offense gimmicky with simple reads and high-percentage/dink & dunk passes. (I guess you can say that it was a lot of dumpoffs but I remember Connor making a lot of tough throws)
-Tajh was nicknamed "Fat Boy" by his teammates

Re: 2014 NFL Combine Thread

Saw a mock draft today showing Sammy Watkins to Detroit in 1st RD. The writer asked "Could Watkins be the Starscream to Calvin Johnson's Megatron?"

That would be a pretty nasty WR tandem if so. Think about the WR duos facing off in the Det vs Chi game if this were to happen.

All they are talking about is Johnny Manziel on NFL.com. Geez.

Since most of JM's throws were off scrambles, I don't think he has a strong enough arm to throw from the pocket and that would show up at the combine.

I don't think any of the QB are good enough to go #1.....none of these guys are close to Andrew Luck.

A lot of players aren't close to Andrew Luck. I would take him over Clowney if they were in the same draft.
That said, it Doesn't mean the Texans won't take them.

I think Clowney is almost a lock to Texans. He's almost zero risk.....best DE in a decade in a huge position of need for every team....almost every one of the QB has way more risk than Clowney. I guess my point was that for a QB to go #1, he's got to have the complete package.

Re: 2014 NFL Combine Thread

In the last 5 drafts, a total of 3 DE have run under 4.6

Yea but you believe there are no QBs that are the complete package.
What if the Texans do?

Either way, the Texans will be in a world of doo-doo - unless they make a trade. LOL.
