Question for law enforcement

I had a car that wouldn't let me worry on the interstate, just kept speeding up when I'm trying to get over.I finally had to just move in front of them anyway and held my hand up as if to say "what are you doing??"

the vehicle then passed me and on the back of it it said "police demonstrator" with a regular state tag (not permanent).

What is a police demonstrator?

Re: Question for law enforcement

I'm not LE, but I thought that was a vehicle owned by the manufacturer that was loaned for testing purposes...

Did you also save a ton of money on your car insurance by switching to Geico?

Re: Question for law enforcement

I've been gone a while and haven't posted but, felt the need to weigh in on this one. I've been in law enforcement for 10 years and never heard of a demonstrator. The Crown Vics used to be called Police Interceptors. Best I can say is to agree that it may be a demo car from a dealership for law enforcement to test. My agency tested some of the new Chevy Caprice's before we chose the Taurus. Not all LE plates are permanent either. If he did not blue light and ticket you on the spot, I wouldn't worry about it. It may have been an LE test drive but, he shouldn't have been a D*** and kept you from moving over. No ticket at the time of offense = do not worry about it. Hope this helps.

Google has 2,400,000 results for a search containing police demonstrator vehicles. One of those probably has the information you seek. I suggest reading them all.

Re: Question for law enforcement

OK not in SC but Mississippi last week I saw a Dodge Charger all tricked out with police gear, light bar, front pit bar (you know like a brush guard). Even had lettering on it but.....wait for it.... it was the local Dodge Dealer promoting the new cop car. Across the top front window was "OUT OF SERVICE". At first glance it looked like the real deal.
