Freemasons and the hip hop community

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if Freemasonry and Freemason symbols are popular in the hip hop community?

I just saw a young African-American male about 25 years old walk into a convenience store with a gigantic blinged out Freemason compass thing with the G in the center (not sure what it's called) which I normally see elsewhere. It was about the size of a small plate and was wearing what I would characterize as other hip hop clothing.

I was just wondering if this is a typical Mason member demographic these days. I tend to associate masons with older white dudes

That's the square and compasses. He probably lifted off of the Masons, it's not exactly a big secret.

He was probably wearing something he saw somebody that knows what it means wearing and thought it was cool.

he's obviously a freemason whom is under the illusion that his secret club is more powerful than it really is.

i know freemasons, and i dont judge them- they are what they are...a fraternity of men. that is all. they do not wield some illuminati-type power or influence.
