Cowboy boots
Since the Houston Rodeo started today and for my birthday my girlfriend is getting me a pair of boots. Some questions I have are what brands if any do y'all recommend? Are their any other tricks to breaking them in? I'm guessing you have to wear tall socks with the boots?

Re: Cowboy boots
My favorite brands are Lucchese or Tony Lamas. It's worth spending the money to get a comfortable pair, IMO. Your feet will thank you.

Re: Cowboy boots
Justin - most are made in the USA, they fit like a glove, bang for your buck, good prices, nice styles

Tony Lama - sort of expensive, they fit me somewhat narrow for some reason, never had a pair, nice styles

Ariat - maybe somebody has had a different experience but I don't like them. Very expensive, Chinese crap, trendy styles, but to each his own... The soles are comfortable as hell though.

Lucchese- very pricey, heard they broke in easily, some of them are exotic leather like lizard and stuff

Chippewa - all made in the USA, difficult to break in but when they do they fit great, sort of like Red Wings, these are real rancher type boots built to last. Same goes for Double H which are cool

Re: Cowboy boots
Lucchese makes some great Ostrich boots.

Re: Cowboy boots
Got myself a pair of Lucchese in a darker brown color. I think I'm going to be satisfied with them.

/thread ... she know's her stuff.

I stuck with Justins as my work boot for years, and eventually I noticed myself wearing my other boots, my supposed dress wear to work.

Big fan of Laredo. Got one pair that gets very regular wear that I've had since 2003 that are as good as they day I got 'em. I live near a Cavenders and Sheplers so I'll be going in for another pair of Laredos soon. Inexpensive, too.

Re: Cowboy boots
The only pair of cowboy boots I've ever owned were Frye. I sold them on Ebay because they fit funny. I bought them 30 years ago and they were still in the same box with the sales receipt.

Now I wear the leather boots you see on most girls - below knee, mid calf, ankle. No more cowboy boots for me.

Re: Cowboy boots
Double H. Wear them everyday I have to wear shoes. I do recommend square toes more comfortable from the start. The trick to breaking them in is, wearing them like a man.
