hotel discounts
What is the best website for finding a good hotel room discount? I've used hotwire and such, but someone i know used groupon and the deal was ridiculously good

I like to use Hotwire and to try and figure out the hotel before I book it.

Groupon getaways and Living Social escapes run specials that they email to you. You don't have as much choice with those though.

Re: hotel discounts is good.

Don't use Their rates are good at first glance but they add on a $25 booking fee.

Hampton Inns have the most comfortable beds by far. Very reasonable too in most cities.

If you are flexible and can do without reservations the free green hotel books at many places like Denny's and at every rest stop in Florida can save you a lot of money. They have an online site now too.

A lot depends on where you are going and when.

Travel Zoo may be helpful as well.

Groupon is good but I've heard some of their Caribbean all-inclusives turned into timeshare presentations by the hotel.

But for deals in the US, it's tough to beat if you're looking to go where they have deals.
