ReggieRankin: Breaking: Just confirmed that SF Shamiek Sheppard (Brooklyn, NY/Fishburne Military School) has committed to South Carolina. @RecruitingESPN

ReggieRankin: Frank Martin adding a major sleeper in Sheppard. Tough, competes, athletic wing with great upside. Like the fit!

ReggieRankin: Fishburne coach Ed Huckaby did a great job developing Sheppard on and off the court.

sportstalksc: Per his coach 6-6 Shamiek Sheppard has committed to USC.

sportstalksc: When asked, Sheppard's coach immediately used two words in response as to why Shamiek chose USC: "Frank Martin"

DCTheState: Sheppard listed at 6-6, 210. Just what USC needs -- height and some bulk. Got to have some post players in the next class.

Also had an offer from Kansas State.

Good pickup.

I'm very happy to have Sheppard in our program. Tough, athletic 6-6, 220 guy who, according to his coach, can play multiple positions and will do whatever you need him to do to win.

I dont think his commitment now is a coincidence, he like what the players said about frank, is the reason we will be winners in a few years!

Yep, if he ends of playing anything like Mike Boynton I will be very pleased. Good pick-up for Frank.

Good pickup for our program. Seems like a guy that's got a lot of upside.

Boyton was a PG but did play hard

Going to have to drop a current player to make room for him.

Who goes?

Welcome to Gamecock nation! His highlight video is good. Really looks like he can score in the paint and has a nice mid range jumper.

He's more of a slasher type guy. Gets in the paint for his points. He can throw it down too.

Nice 10-12 foot jumper. Agressive in the paint too and finishes well around the rim.

I'm getting flashbacks of Lakeem Jackson. Love Lakeem but hope he's a little more polished offensively than him.

He can shoot. Lakeem didn't have a fundamentally pretty shot.
