SEC Men's Tournament Bracket
Am I the only one who thinks the way the bracket is set up dumb? Unless we are talking College World Series Style brackets, they should work in a 2^x format (2, 4, 8, 16, 32...). Just from looking at it, the bracket seems like the SEC is trying to reward the top 4 seeds with automatic advancement to the quarterfinals, but that totally destroyed the traditional bracket format. Why not just give the top two seeds a bye, and seed the rest into the round of 16? If the 3rd and 4th seed wanted a bye, they should have earned one of the top two seeds in the regular season. Why reinvent the wheel?
Re: SEC Men's Tournament Bracket
I see what you're saying, but I guess it's a nod to the old 12 team format (the conference only added Mizzou and aTm two years ago), so they wanted to preserve the Top 4 getting a bye until the quarterfinals
