As competition heats up, Bradley stays unflappable

TAMPA, Fla. -- When Jackie Bradley Jr. arrived to face the Yankees on Tuesday, he ran into Jacoby Ellsbury, the All-Star he is trying to replace in center field for the Red Sox.

"Yeah, we spoke earlier today," said Bradley. "Small surface talk."

But the talk about Ellsbury won't go away any time soon, at least when reporters remind Bradley of the proverbial shoes he is trying to fill.

Grady Sizemore has played really well so far this spring, so I'm not sure JBJ will be the opening day starter

Sizemore gets injured EVERY. SINGLE. SEASON., so I'm sure JBJ will get plenty of opportunity to play no matter what Grady does or doesn't do in Spring Training.

You just have to admire his attitude and how he approaches the game of baseball. Such a great defender and his at bats are improving steadily. He will be top flight in MLB very, very quickly!

I will always be a JBJr fan.

I know, but he's healthy now and playing well so I think he gets the start on opening day. When he gets hurt it JBJ's job. The only real question is do they keep him up at the major league level or option him to AAA. I think they option him to get him at bats every day until they call him up rather then just sit on the bench.

They have Nava, Victorino, Gomes, Carp, Sizemore and Bradley. The first 4 are guaranteed to be in Boston and I think one of the final two will be up at any given time
