Can someone give a summary?

Some of us were too wrapped up in the basketball tournament to remember to listen, despite the reminder

Re: CAROLINA CALLS Reminder

Talked about the saban rule and said no huddle had been around for a long time and is part of football. Said upstate team brags about number of plays they run but they don't run tha many against usc because of our defensive scheme and offense staying on field.

Was asked about the Clemson clocks and said he didn't realize we were that important to them.

Said shell and Robinson were great players that needed to turn it up a notch to be dominant.

Said English was sstrongest player on team but didn't play well last year. Said he just ran around the field and fell into some tackles. Said he needs to be leader and take charge.

Talked about being the oc and how he tried to turn over play calling to someone once and it didn't work out. Said he felt like he was doing nothing on the sidelines, so he took it back because it didn't work out.

That's all i could get

That was actually the best part of the show last night.
A guy called in and asked him what he thought about Clemson's Clock ?
His response was "yeah, somebody told me about that... I was kinda
surprised because I didn't know we were that important to them" !

Todd Ellis followed that remark by saying his question would be "Did the
Clock manufacturer put enough room in their clocks for that long of a
countdown for when they finally win a game against us" ?

Re: CAROLINA CALLS Reminder

tigernet is all lit up this morning with threads of angry taters because of
what the coach said about the clocks.......And he didn't even say anything
derogatory about them. It's funny because he actually took an undercover
shot at them that was worse than the clock remark and they aren't even
aware of it.

Todd asked the Coach what his opinions were on the "Saban Rule" that was
put before the NCAA Committee. When Coach Spurrier told him that he was
not in favor of 10 second delay before the snap of the ball, and his opinion
was to just leave it the way it is now because the no huddle / hurry up
offense had been a part of football for decades, and it hasn't made that
much of a issue until the past couple of years with some coaches.
Ellis then asked him WHY he had that kind of opinion on the HU/NH and
said that a growing group of coaches didn't really like the Hurry up offense.
Coach Spurrier's reply was:
"Well, as you know, there is a team up north of here that uses that
hurry up offense, and they talk about running 80,85 / 90 plays a game
and such .... and, DID YOU KNOW that in the last three years against us
they ran 61 plays this past year ...... 58 the year before, and 60 the
year before that................. "

Coach Spurrier basically went on to say that, The way you beat a team
with a hurry up offense is for your defense to Stop Them, when they
have the ball, and when you have it, you want to protect the football,
make several third down conversions, and score TDs when you are in the
Red Zone.

Everyone calls Coach Spurrier an Offensive Genius, but 85% of the time,
he just states the obvious, and then Keeps it Simple. ...... AND STICKS IT
TO OUR RIVAL EVERY CHANCE HE GETS.
