Is Williams-Brice the furtherest East that Texas A&M has ever played?

I only look at prediction articles after spring practice ends.

I'd love to see Auburn West Virginia Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

They say farther down that after the playoff teams they just sent everybody else to the geographically closest bowl. So basically we go to the Belk because we're the closest to Charlotte.

That makes sense.. It's just that the Belk Bowl seems like a mid-tier bowl game.

This.

They think it will be a more geographic thing to get more tickets sold.

Re: Way too early predictions

So if you don't make a semifinal or a "BCS" game, you are put into the closest bowl geographically?

Re: Way too early predictions

If they don't adjust the payouts for each bowl, I don't see the geographic thing working out too well. I imagine some schools will pitch a fit if the get sent to a bowl with a $1.5M payout when they would have been going to a bowl with a $3M+ payout, especially if that school travels well and would sell their allotment of tickets.

Yeah I can see that happening too.

I just don't think it's fair to be put in a middle level bowl just because it's closer. It would seem like a home game if it was really close.

I call bullcrap on that. They have Minnesota going to the Gator Bowl.

Sorry but I'm not traveling to Charlotte in January for a football game.

New Orleans, Arizona, Hawaii yes.

Atlanta, no.

Putting us in the Belk Bowl is a great way to not sell many tickets.

That article is laughable. It's almost like they just drew names out of a hat.

9/20/07 they lost at Miami 34-17.
9/18/03 they lost at Va Tech 35-19.
They also played at BC in 1981.

Re: Way too early predictions

Don't care much for the prediction either, but keep in mind that the bowl "pecking order" is sort of out the window beginning this year: no longer is it 1. BCS 2. CapOne 3. Cotton/Outback 5. Chickfila, etc

Starting this year, after the playoff teams are announced and the Sugar/Orange non playoff year wrinkle is worked out, the Capitol One gets the next pick.

Then the CONFERENCE ASSIGNS THE TEAMS to Outback, Music City, Belk, Houston, Liberty, and Gator.

Then Birmingham and Shreveport get anything left over.

Gone are the Chickfila and Cotton tie-ins, so presumably, the third or fourth best SEC team could get assigned to the Belk Bowl from now on.
