2015 - Shane Lemieux - Oregon

Visited USC on Friday and was highly impressed when he left. He also visited NC State and ECU over the weekend. Now he has returned to USC campus this morning before he heads back home to Washington. CC said Lemieux fell in love with USC. Wonder if he will commit before he heads home?

Not sure, but I'm sure he could play OG and OT.

That is a loonnnng way off.

Does he have some kind of connection to this state? Does one of our coaches have a connection to a coach of his, or something similar?

Just seems strange that he and we would link up. Dunno maybe if someone just wanted to play in the SEC, and this was the best fit.

Not knocking it, but just seems kind of odd.

His dad lives in SC. He is on commitment watch right now.

Re: 2015 - Shane Lemieux

We have been recruiting him for awhile. He lives with his mom in Washington. His dad lives in SC and works for Boeing. Oregon and USC are his top 2, but we took the lead this weekend after his visit on Friday, and now he is back on campus this morning before he heads back home to his mom. Also his mom said she would think about moving to SC if he decided to come to USC.

His father is a nuclear engineer living in Lancaster so Lemieux has made numerous visits to the Palmetto State. And he has strong interest in the Gamecocks right now. "They are SEC, pretty great weather, and the football team is obviously very good. I'm very interested. The first time I talked to him, me and coach (Shawn) Elliott have already gained a pretty good relationship and he offered me right then and there."
.
.
.
And Lemieux adds that distance from home won't play a factor in his final decision. "If I go down to play at South Carolina my mom will find a way to get down there. If I go down to play at Oregon my dad will find a way to get down there. It's a win-win."

If I'm not mistaken his father lives in Lancaster.

Tony morrell is saying that he is back on campus again today. Not that it means anything but very interesting

It absolutely means something. What is the question, but I'm feeling good about our chances. Real good.

Yea I think he is on spring break visiting his dad.
Don't let boring facts get in the way of a good, juicy story.

Would be a very nice pickup.
The only question I have about him is level of competition and speed he goes against.
His film doesn't look like he goes against very fast, physical competition...but I like his technique and it looks like he has good initial punch getting first contact.
Def. has the frame to be an SEC lineman.

I like that we are getting some looks from kids around the nation , even if his father lives here. He doesn't so that says a little about how our program is starting to be perceived nationally.

Things just got better, he committed contingent upon his Mother & stepfather visiting. Damn good week to be a gamecock.

Just keep winning baby. We need another big season to demonstrate we are are a top tier program. That's what gets attention from the best prospects.
