Re: Favorite phone/tablet apps
Might be more useful if people would explain what the apps do and why they like them instead of just listing names.

Flappy Bird

Re: Favorite phone/tablet apps
Games: You Don't Know Jack, Flappy Bird, Candy Crush
Shopping: FatWalletBlackFriday, BradsDeals, Amazon, Woot, eBay, Craiglist
Social Media: Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vine
Productive stuff: KhanAcademy, MyScriptCalculator, Class Dojo (kid teachers post their behavior daily on ClassDojo), MySchoolBucks (pay the kids lunch bill online, you can even see what lunch they purchase, LOL)
Sports: WatchEPSN, ESPNCFB
Misc: Walgreens (use this app to scan the bar code on the prescription bottles to easily refill prescriptions)

The MyScriptCalculator is one of my favorite ones. It's a calculator, but there is no buttons. It's a blank screen and you write your equation (with stylus or finger) and it generates the answer. Love this app when doing quick calculations in meetings.

Re: Favorite phone/tablet apps
Downloaded 2048 this morning and you guys are right, it is really addicting. Decided to play a game or two during my mid-morning break and next thing I knew it was lunchtime. Good thing it's a slow Friday today! Took a couple of games, but I got the strategy down and beat it. It's cool that it lets you keep going after 2048 if you want.

Re: Favorite phone/tablet apps
I think I'll be alone on this one, but hands down the most useful app for me is the CTA Bus Tracker app.

Other apps I love that haven't been mentioned here: IMDb app (obvious use), Uber (quickly get a cab), Shazam (yeah, I still use it), Castle Clash (game - think Warcraft II), Line (free international calls and texts, much like Skype but I've found it to be more stable)
