If you were to project a depth chart (today) for the A&M game, how would it look?

WR - Byrd, Jones
WR - Shaq
WR - Cooper

LT - Robinson, Zandi
LG - AJ, B Stadnick, King (although I am hearing not to expect much from King this year)
C - Waldrop, C Stadnick
RG - Matulus, Rogers, Park, Sport (both DJ and Sport have some serious work to do)
RT - Shell

DE - Dixon, Harris
DT - Surratt, Dixon, Jr., Green
DT - Dukes, Lamin, Griffin
DE - English, Cooper
WLB - Moore, Walton
MLB - Lewis, Holloman, Roberts
Spur - Golightly, Diggs, Bryant
BC - McWilliams, Groves
FC - Smith, Rhodes
FS - Williams, Gurley
SS - Elder, Marcus

Punter - Hull (we're doomed)
Kicker - ????
FG - Fry
KOR - Cooper
PR - Cooper

Qb's a little out of order other than that I concur..

Matulis is our starting RG

mcwilliams is the boundary with smith getting the other spot. He has really impressed the coaches.

Also been hearing griffin as starter this year so I doubt he would be 3rd string. Kinda doesn't natter as much with that depth.

I think you got the positions reversed.

Open tryouts for punter and Full Back.

RG - Matulis
FB - McClaurin, Diaz, Gist, maybe Turner

Yea the LBs need to be switched position wise.

Joe Blue could come in as a freshman...but my money is on Gist or McLaurin.

I think Matulis will be fine at RG but the cool thing is we know if need be we can move Waldrop over and have Stadnick fill in capably at Center

That's good news - updated above.

Linebacker? Mike LB = Middle, Will LB = Weak.

Moore is at Mike I'm pretty sure.

Thank gosh!!! Let us keep our fingers crossed for a punter!

Thanks for the FBs.

Not sure y'all are right about LB positions though. Skai Moore is in the middle.

Yeah, plus they'll either redshirt Blue or possibly move him to LB from what I hear. Although, I would love for us to have another Jacob Bush type FB in the arsenal.

Yep, exactly. Elliott has always had the mindset that every lineman should know every other lineman's job, and know it well. It really applies to guards and centers in his system. They are completely interchangeable.

I'm a little worried about CB and WR depth though.

Done, thank you, should have done it earlier I guess. I do not know why I had it backwards, in my head. It even makes sense actually.

Marcquis Roberts comfortable with change

We've got 3 tight ends with wide receiver speed - Busta, Adams, and Rainey. Owens is tall and reportedly strong but without the speed of the others. There's another 6-6 240 walk-on guy in the mix (Homad) and an incoming highly rated HBack/TE who's short, but tough and gifted (Crosby). It should be an interesting lineup and rotation - I can see a number of 2-tight combinations as an option, especially with our talent at RB and tight ends who are big and fast. I'd still like to see Adams and Busta as forward blockers on punts, just to mess with opposing coaches' heads.

TEs are never going to be a big part of Spurrier's offense. We go through this every year. 1-2 catches here and there but that's about it.

But people will talk all year ab how underutilized they are just like every year.

I just hope that they will call plays to the strengths of the team...and this year, more so than previous, our te's could be a big asset. We have more questions than answers at the wide-out position right now imo.

Shaq- will have a huge year
Pharoh- Swiss army knife
Nick- will be solid as always
Damiere- will he have his pre-injury speed back?
Shamier, KJ, Jody, Kane, incoming freshman- ?????

IMO, Busta and Jerell would be 2 and 3 behind Shaq, regardless of position. Meaning strictly based on talent, skill-sets and experience.

I know Spurrier is not a traditional TE guy...but he was never really a 40+ rush attempts/game kinda guy either

In addition, I believe our TE's add to our run game by being a threat to double a DE on both sides as well being capable of getting open deep. If teams try to stack the box like they did sometimes this year, a TE as fast as Jerrell or Busta, can take a 10 yarder a long way. Jerrell is a legit deep threat, and Busta is pretty elusive catching it underneath coverage. If they keep the safeties deep, you've got two good sized blockers to get on a linebacker.

I know homad is a TE, but i think you're talking about the Jacob August kid.

One of the things that has really helped our program under the HBC has been the addition of some really talented walk-ons.

That gives me an idea for a spin-off topic since it is the off season.

TEs block. If a TE goes out for a pass then the offense thought they could spare him as a blocker. Unless it's a sure bet the TE can get open it may not be worth losing the extra blocker. I'm oversimplifying a bit.
