Auburn commitment arrested on drug charges

The top committed junior college prospect in the nation was arrested early Sunday morning.

Auburn commitment Jason Smith, an ‘athlete’ prospect out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, was arrested after eluding an officer and possessing marijuana. He was arrested around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning in Mobile County. He is already out of jail and has a court date set for May.

Auburn has no Fulmer points, he's not on campus, so it doesn't count. SC on the other hand does have Fulmer Cup points.

Same could be said oF Mangus. To my knowledge Pat Dye has never been arrested for being found drunk peeing in a gutter.

The rules of the Fulmer Cup states that it has to be a currently enrolled athlete.

No, but this is much worse

Auburn — Seven Major Infractions: Seven major infractions for now, anyway. The Cam Newton situation aside, Auburn has had a difficult time playing by the rules over the years. Its most embarrassing incident occurred in 1991, when 60 Minutes aired recordings of head football coach Pat Dye arranging a loan for a player. The series of incriminating tapes were provided by former star defensive back Eric Ramsey and unveiled a player payment scheme involving the coaching staff and prominent booster “Corky” Frost. For its wrongdoing, Auburn received a two-year bowl ban, a one-year television and ban and lost 13 scholarships over a four-year period. Dye was replaced by Terry Bowden, who became the first Division 1 coach to go undefeated in his first season but had nothing to show for it.

Who the hell cares for college baseball? If I wanted to bring up random collegiate sports I'd mention Auburn's dozen or so national championships in Swimming.

Man, this thread escalated quickly.

Is this the second Auburn commit to be arrested on drug charges?

Yes, yes it is.

These Auburn commits may have been better off going to Colorado or Washington.
