Game of Thrones Season 4**NO SPOILERS past aired episodes**

Begins this Sunday. My favorite show on TV. This season is gonna be epic. For book readers Martin put out a sample chapter from the Winds of Winter on his website if of interest. Helps because we won't get the book probably till 2025.

For curiosity (and for fun) sake how bout if you post in this thread at the end list who your favorite character is.

Mine is Stannis.

ADDED BY JOHNNYB: please do not post spoliers for those of us who have not read the books.

Wow, really?

I didn't think anyone liked Stannis.
Not that he's a villain...he's just a cold, boring character (IMO)

For me, it's a khaleesi, all day, every day (and twice on Sundays)
tied for 2nd would be Jon Snow and Arya Stark.

Oh, and I'm convinced that Martin will croak before he finishes the story.

That's what he doesn't seem to realize (or doesn't care) when it comes to the question of what is taking him so long. I mean, the guy took the time to write a damn coffee table book! FINISH THE SERIES, FIRST!

I like Stannis because he is different then the other typical fantasy characters in the story. He's smart tactically and a realist and has a strong character. And he's got Melisandre.

It just moved so damn slowly last season. He's killing the product by being so freaking slow.

Tyrion OR Tywin Lannister.

Tyrion is far more capable and compassionate than he shows or is allowed to show.
Tywin is just...well...a badass patriarch who is a dick.

I hate the Stark characters...all of them, I'm glad most of them are dead.

SPOILER in White : Jon Snow is "okay" but not a Stark. .

Tyrion or Tywin.

I also like Jamie. The Lanisters are vastly more interesting than the Starks.

I like Arya once she crosses the sea. Tyrion's is my fave. Also like Samwell.

Can't wait. Love the show, love the books. Arya is my favorite in both, Jon Snow is a bit of a bitch in the show but awesome in the books, he's probably #2

I agree with this, I much prefer the Jon snow of the books to the one in the show. Tyrion would prob be my second favorite with arya and the mother of dragons coming up next

I am not trying to be contrarian. My favorite character, both in the books and in the HBO series, is Brienne of Tarth. Before she came into the picture, my favorite was Tyrion Lannister and The Onion Knight, Davos Seaworth.

Brienne is interesting to me in the same way Davos is. They sort of succeed in ways that Ned Stark could not. They move in corrupt and scheming worlds and suffer greatly for it but, and this is where they diverge from Ned, their steady righteousness lead to important changes (or bring to light previously suppressed character traits) in important characters they interact with.

Tyrion is a interesting to me because he fully knows the game and tries to turn it on its head whenever he can, as long as it does not lead to him losing his head. He was targeted for death and disdain from birth and has managed to survive. Of course he has done this by hook and crook and keen insight/intelligence.

I'm hoping they make Jon a little more awesome, he does harden up a bit in book 5 (Edd, fetch me a block...). Maybe they'll make him less mopey starting this season.

Kahleesi spends way too much time across the sea. If you have read the books you know what I mean.

Arya, like someone mentioned, get real cool once she gets across the sea.

Jon, I wanted to like, but his confidence/morals blind him (this was shown more in the books.
