Atlanta and Miami. New teams will begin play in 2017.

MLS is already more popular than MLB among young Americans.

In ten years I can see MLS being one of the top 3 sports in the U.S

And maybe even a top 5 in the world.

The financial job Don Garber is doing is amazing, they are building nice stadiums.

Wonder if Coke will be the sponsor of the Atlanta team?

The team is already in second division, they played vs Clemson and USC a few days ago.

I hope they succeed. I'll root for them.

Re: MLS Expands To

I'm sure they will, MLS has been doing a very good job in the financial side. There are many other cities that are dying to have a team too, San Diego and Saint Louis for example.

Wish Raleigh had gotten a team.

If anything Charlotte but is very expensive, investors are not going to risk their money if there is not guarantee they are getting it back.

Raleigh/Cary makes more sense. Already has the facilities, and the ones needed could easily be built.

Is there enough soccer fans?

Yeah, The Railhawks sell out their games, factor in Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill and you'd have enough. The triangle is the soccer belt n this area.

I saw an article not too long ago that talked about Charlotte being a potential expansion for the MLS. I'd think it'd be a better spot than Raleigh.

If Charlotte got a team I'd definitely go see a few games.

I would love it if Charlotte got an MLS team. I however would expect Raleigh to get one because they already have a decently established Railhawks team and facilities. I hear they do well with attendance too.

I think it could work with good marketting, will they go for it though? I doubt it, no any time soon.

Tfc is a very large club in NC. Easy money there for an expansion team. Casl Is also there

There were times when people talked about the Charleston Battery going to MLS but I doubt it will work in Charleston either.

MLS is averaging 19,000 fans per game this year. NBA is 17,000. Pretty impressive.
