BA-Midseason Projections

http://www.baseballamerica.com/colle...d-field-of-64/

BA has us as the #2 overall seed. Sure doesn't feel like we should be that high but our record is still excellent and we are #1 in rpi. Best part of the article is when they finally admitted the acc isn't nearly as strong as usual and is really just two great teams in uva and fsu with a couple good teams behind.

Kind of a wierd looking regional with Kanas, West Carolina and William & Mary.

We will see how the rest of the season shakes out.

Nearly as strong as usual? When has the ACC ever been strong? It's like football. Beat up on a bunch of midgets and become the tallest midget. Play with big boys and you get your tail beat. Sure, ACC teams may make the CWS but they are downright awful when they get there.

Jeremy, dear fellow, it's all a matter of perspective.
Strong=Tobacco Road(ex:UNC)is in the mix. Others don't really count. LOL.

Seriously? Lose the stupid "The ACC is crap" routine. The ACC plays great college baseball. FSU may not have ever won it all, but they are a legendary program. Don't be smug because we won two--it's not easy! Furthermore, we've been defeated by UNC lately, and we had a tight game against a great UVA team in 2011. Let's be completely honest, it's really only been SC and LSU carrying the torch for the SEC during the past 10 or so years. The more you diminish the ACC the weaker our wins become against them.

I agree that the ACC is terrible and is consistently overrated each year.

A sign of SEC dominance is a middle-of-the-road Mississippi State team reaching the finals last year.

Florida would be national champs if South Carolina didn't exist. Same goes for Vandy.

Seriously? I guess we should forget UF's multiple appearances in the title game, MSU appearing last year, Georgia having appeared in the last 5 or so years. Vandy is always elite. Not to mention Ole Miss and UK have been racking up the wins the past 3-5 years.

Yeah, I admit the ACC is historically pretty dang strong. GT, UNC, CU, Miami (10 years ago), have been recently very good to go along with Virginia and FSU. But the ACC is way down this year. NCSU is having a much worse year than anticipated, UNC is down, Clemson is ok, and GT has been getting worse and worse.

The gap between the SEC and the ACC this year is significant. Especially now that they've added ND and Pitt.

And Miss St, and Florida and even UGA. SEC baseball is head and shoulders above ACC baseball. Period. The ACC has 1 title, Wake Forest in 1955. The ACC is good, but they are a step below SEC baseball.
