Just the tip.

tip what you feel comfortable with...

that being said, know what is the reasonable percentage to tip and if you don't have enough to tip the server, then please do not partake in the service.

This rule goes out of the window if you find yourself in an unexpected tipping situation.

Re: What should I tip?

At a posh Las Vegas casino, a blackjack dealer and a player with a 13 count in his hand are arguing about whether or not it is appropriate to tip the dealer.

The player says, "When I get bad cards, it's not the dealer's fault. Accordingly, when I get good cards, the dealer obviously has nothing to do with that either, so why should I tip him?"

The dealer replies, "When you eat at a restaurant do you tip the waiter?"

"Yes," the gambler concedes.

"Well then, he serves you food; whether it's good or bad isn't up to him. By the same token, I'm serving you cards, so you should tip me."

"OK," says the gambler, "but the waiter gives me what I ask for. I'll take an 8."

I tip based on the level of service I receive. If I have a lousy server with a bad attitude then they will receive a lousy tip. Conversely, if I have a good waiter with a good attitude then I will tip well. I really try to remind myself if the food isn't that good it usually is not the waiters fault so even if they are kind I still try and give them a good tip.

we have movers coming to move us from house to house, what does one do in that situation. We are already paying for the labor and everything...Is a tip necessary?

When I hired movers to pack up my "U-ship" containers in SC to move to TX I tipped the guys all $15-20 (I cannot remember the exact amount).

I do. When I have furniture or appliances delivered, I'll tip like a 5 spot per dude. I moved into a new house last summer. I tipped my Movers like $20 a head for 3 guys. The bill was like $700, they were still a good 300-400 cheaper than everyone else I called. Plus they moved a house full of my stuff on the hottest day in July.

That makes sense...we haven't decided who is going to be moving us, just know we are using movers. If the weather is rough they will get a tip, or if they are careful, or if they offer a significant savings from other companies I could see it. Just don't want to pick the cheapies and run into a situation where I got what I paid for...
