Kind of looking forward to this one because it has a chance to be quirky awesome. Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, Bob Odenkirk. Starts 10 p.m. Tuesday 4/15 on FX.

I am interested too. Not a huge fan of Billy Bob, but hope the show is good.

Short run series, correct? Can't see it being a full season run

10 episode limited series.

Ten episodes. If there's a second season it will involve a different case.

It was good. As good at or better than the movie in some ways but I miss Frances Macdormand.

I DVR'd it and will get around to watching it sometime in the next week.

Early reviews from critics who have seen the first 4 episodes are good.

If it is renewed, I hope they change locations. The Minnesota setting makes it unique but it is somewhat limiting. I like that Pizzolatto is moving TD to SoCal for season 2. It helps to keep things fresh and new.

Seems nice but quirky in a good way. The peeing in the gas tank was funny.

Bumping this thread.

I have not seen last night's episode yet but I plan on watching it tonight or tomorrow.

I kind of liked the show to begin with but last week's episode really got me into it. BBT is doing a great job - his portrayal of the preacher was excellent. I love the show's off beat humor

Seems very similar to the movie. Is this supposed to be the case?

I haven't seen the movie in quite a while, but it seems to me that the storyline is different, although the tone and themes are very similar.

Bingo. The show runer said that was the goal for the show. Same feel but different story.

Finally got my business moved and got caught up on Fargo. Really like it so far and it's getting better each episode. Satan has come to Bemidji. Doesn't have as much dark humor or quirkiness as I had hoped but it's the show I most look forward to each week. Can't wait for it to be on Netflix so that I can rewatch without FF through the commercials.

Randoms: Lester reminds me of Elmer Fudd when he has on that coat and cap. Any chance Mrs Hess hired Malvo to kill Sam?

I hope I'm not divulging any spoilers, but I'm going to white text that shit, just in case!

It's actually a sequel.
None of the characters from the movie have appeared in the show so far, but there are 'easter eggs' and relatively subtle references that viewers of the movie will see and go "ohhh! i always wondered what happened to <item XYZ>"

This is a quality show. Billy Bob Thorton is terrific. If it werent for the number of excellent acting performances that will be up for an Emmy this year (True Detective, Mad Men, Breaking Bad) then this show would be in contention, but just because of the competition, it likely won't win any this season.

So, that was a pretty dark episode. I felt bad for Glen Howerton's character.
