Wow. He got passed by the freshman I guess. Even so, a little surprised.

I am betting Sumerlin is praying Allen is the real deal for this season.

So they basically have a true freshmen and a Stephen Garcia impersonator.

Looks good for us.

I thought the Freshman was the Garcia impersonator.

To whoever is the starting QB for A&M on a Thursday night in front of 85,000 strong at Williams Brice and on the SEC Network... Good luck young mane!

Nope, hill is the drunk. He was battling for the starting role before his suspension. Not the freshman has a legit shot at it.

We better be ready. We have not played well in openers recently.

Not nearly as worried about A&M since they won't have that 6'5 stud WR outside to make plays. Also they lost their stud LT and other NFL caliber guys. I see A&M taking a step back. Their recruiting class rankings have been inflated and not have filled needs across the board.

This is awesome. Bring on a true FR to play his 1st collegiate game in Williams Brice, the toughest place to get a W for an away team in the past 3 years!

I don't give a damn how good Allen was in HS, the SEC is a whole different level than any HS league. Call the meat wagon! Our chances of beating them just jumped.

aTm is LOADED at the skill positions. Absolutely loaded.

And we have a history of no-name QBs having career games against us. Jalen Whitlow in most recent memory.

Whitlow was a 2nd year player though and wasn't he even an early enrollee there? Allen will be an early enrollee as well, but this will be his 1st collegiate game ever, and he'll be going up against a defense that:
1. Has consistently been ranked in the Top 20 Nationally the past 4 Seasons,
2. The defense is playing at home, in WB,
3. the defense has a new scheme in the 3-4 in which there is NO tape on for him to look at, to see how we specifically can run it.
4, this defense has only lost 1 home game in 3 years.

I don't care how good Allen was in HS, that's a lot to put on a true FR for his 1st collegiate game.

Will be an ugly game for both teams.

Yes they have recruited WR and RB well, which inflates their class rankings. They have not done as well along the OL and DL as they need to, in my opinion. I think it was 2013 class that they signed 8-10 WR and athletes projected to be WRs. That isn't well rounded recruiting. I'm not saying they will suck but I don't think they are going to sustain the level they were the last two years.

We've won every single season opener since 2000. I'd say we do OK.

A defense that has no proven pass rushers and Freshmen corners.

Equalizer, IMO.
