Re: Holly Trees pruning
Hire a Clemson Grad. You can probably find one with a Masters Degree in holly tree pruning.

Re: Holly Trees pruning
sounds like storm damage. I lost a few holly tops (25 or 30 ft tall trees) in the ice storm and I'm afraid they are looking pretty weak nowadays. Hope yers are saved...

I have some large ones in my front yard. 2 years ago we cut the top 6 feet off. Now they are filled back in just fine. What exactly are you having pruned?

Re: Holly Trees pruning
Hollys will take a lot but I'd suggest trying a local quality nursery or even a clemson extension office if youre really concerned.

Re: Holly Trees pruning
Naturally on our block, our hollies are huge compared to everyone elses Hollies. This is due to ours getting the most sun I believe. It grew a foot in height in 6 weeks. We are having a very reputible tree company pruned them back. I also called Clemson. We are having approx. 4 feet cut off the top. The leafy part of the Holly is approx. 10 feet and the trunks are approx. 3 1/2 feet tall. I heard they grow back , but wondered if anyone has ever cut back a Hollies.

How long would it take to grow shoots?
Does anyone knows of a landscaper who would keep it trimmed and shaped?
