I'll never forget that last game in 2010. I was at my mother's house in the upstate and it was an awful thunderstorm. I had been watching...but the satellite went out in the bottom of the 11th with Wingo on 3rd. I made a mad dash to the car to listen on the radio. Tuned it in JUST IN TIME to hear that beautiful PING! off of Merrifield's bat and hear the call.

Who left out Robert Beary? He was an integral part of the 2011 run!

Didn't see his name mentioned in the article. he was basically told he'd never played catcher for Tanner and we all saw how that turned out

Hopefully the series win vs Auburn will get that fire started to send us to a third national championship

He was a great catcher but he also played a mean left field! Kid was utility like Jake Williams...

Man... I literally had heart surgery the day of that UVA game--somewhat minor to be fair, but I was 19 and terrified--but every nurse that came in before my surgery was asked the same question: "I'll be awake before the Gamecocks play tonight, right?" Had to fight through the meds, but I was awake for every inning.

Sounds like you gave that heart procedure a good work out the day you got it done.
