2014 NFL Draft (May 8th-10th)

I figured I would make this thread in advance of the draft. As we all are patiently anticipating Clowney to go number 1 over all. I personally am looking forward to seeing where Connor Shaw goes, along with everyone else. One week until we finally find out, and it is usually the time where I personally say goodbye to last years team, and begin my focus on this years team intently, not sure how the rest of you go about letting the former players go.

Really curious to see where Manziel goes. Also want to see who the Panthers get at wr cause we need them bad. I wish Mike Evans would drop to them. Also hoping Shaw goes somewhere where he has a chance.

How much of a chance does Carolina have of picking up Bruce?

Well, just 4 more days. This is the most exciting draft to me since Gilmore, Ingram, and Jeffery were drafted.

Maybe they grab him with their first round pick if they're feeling risky

A couple have Bruce going in the second round to the Panthers..I'm hoping we pick up Jordan Matthews in the 4th or 5th

I remember years that were exiting when just one of the guys got drafted.

I really am hoping that the Texans select Clowney #1 overall, but I have a gut feeling they are going to either trade up or take a QB.

And with the 1st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select...Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End, University of South Carolina!

I really hope JD doesnt go to the texans, he will be so much more productive in a 4-3 and will have a much better career. Id rather have the pride of saying we have a great NFL player rather than the #1 pick.

I cannot see Matthews last longer than the second round and he could go in the late first. Great hands and ran a 4.44 at the combine.

I'm doubting the Texans hold onto the #1 pick. The Bills and Falcons seem to be the likely trade up candidates as of now. The Texans are essentially advertising they want to trade down because Clowney doesn't fit a 3-4 and there isn't a QB worthy of #1 so I'd put it 60/40 they trade out.

If Atlanta wants Clowney, they're going to have to give up 3 #1's plus Julio or Mattie Ice.
Clowney is not a normal #1 pick. He is a game changer from day 1. Assuming he stays healthy, he will break the all time record for sacks.

No way Jones or Ryan get traded... This years 1,2,4 and a 1 next season would be enough "points" on the scale to move from 6 to 1. With the falcons history of moving up for a player it covets... I expect Clowney in black and red next year.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft (May 8th-10th)

Just my opinion, but I think Clowney would have the most success in Houston over Buffalo or Atlanta. I think playing under Romeo Crennel and JJ Watt would be the most likely scenario to maximize his potential. Plus, I don't want him terrorizing Cam Newton twice a yr if he went to Atlanta.

Atlanta won't have to give up that much if they want to trade up.

I want Clowney in Atlanta BAD. Hope the Falcons make it happen.

I wish it would just end. I am tired of all the back and forth over the first 5 picks. Just let it be done.

They never should have changed the date of the draft.
If you're going to change it- dont push it all the way out to the 2nd week of May. Too much prognostication.
