Taylor is a special athletic talent that can play that hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker role at the next level. He is relatively new to football, but he has NFL Draft first-rounder potential because of his natural athleticism and ability to make outstanding plays in the open field. Virginia Tech is in very good position with Taylor, but Florida also has a good shot if the Gators can get him to visit. - Adam Friedman, Rivals.com Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Analyst

Hmmm...we lost out on 2 DE prospects for 2014 that didn't make it past admissions. Thomas is pretty much out of the picture now, and Ritchie is now a 2016 JUCO prospect that the plan is for him to rejoin USC down the road. I wonder if there's now an opening at DE to take someone else, or if all they did was ease the numbers crunch for everyone else coming in.

We'll have Blackshear, Lewis, Sawyer, Key, and Whitlow incoming with the 2015 class. Even Wideman may start out at DE for the first year or so. That's pretty deep numbers. In other words, expect Taylor to choose someone else?

Quite honestly, Key and Whitlow weigh in the 220's right now, if I remember correctly.

Granted, they have a year to gain weight, but I can't see them gaining enough weight by next year to be able to take on SEC OT's. They may have to redshirt a year just to get their weight close to 250.

Yeah, but according to the online sites, so does Taylor....

True.

No matter where he goes, if it's a major program he's likely going to redshirt his first year, doesn't matter if it's here, VT, or wherever.

It's easier for skill guys to play as freshmen than other positions.

I think we'll count on Lewis, Sawyer, Wideman and Blackshear in 2015. I think Key and Whitlow would be redshirts
