Scioscia hopes to keep Roth in organization

"He's a young guy who needs to make adjustments," Scioscia said of Roth, who was 1-1 with a 7.20 ERA in 20 Major League innings last season. "They've been slow in coming.

"We certainly hope he's still with us [after the 10-day DFA window]. He has incredible makeup. He competes great. He's shown flashes [of big league ability], but at times he's not able to make the pitches he needs to make."

He cleared waivers and is back in the Angels organization . Started for AA Arkansas last night . Got the win vs NW Arkansas , going 7 innings and allowing 1 run . Whit Merrifield had a double to drive in the only run off Roth .
