Bruce Ellington

They're looking for receivers like Watkins. He is a good receiver. Whether or not we shut him down

not being mean but you must not know football very well ... we were able to shut him down but that doesn't mean he is not extremely talented and has a high ceiling.... bruce is good just undersized

I would have taken Clowney, Shaw, Ellington, Hampton, Quelcy, Dylan, Lorenzo Nunez, Michael Roth and Steve Spurrier Jr. all in the first round.

LOL

I do still find myself hoping to see a surprise pick for Shaw. Nothing as of yet.

Bruce's mom should have hit him with a 2x6 and he would have been picked....

Lets face it Bruce should've stayed one more season, along with Hampton and Kelcy. I guess the allure of the bright lights is too intoxicating. Shaw might get picked up in free agency.

I still think it should be like it is in baseball. Enter the draft, see where you go, negotiate, and if it doesn't work out, then go back to college for another year. Why is the NFL draft not like this?

Tomorrow will just have to be gamecock day in New York.

I'm surprised Bruce hasn't already been taken. The other two don't surprise me. I felt like Vic and Kelcy both needed another year.

True, I feel ya however these kids are informed of their draft potential ahead of time. Some kids fall for misleading draft placement only to get disappointed. I still think Bruce and Hampton will get drafted, Chaz, Kelcy and Shaw may have to hit the FA route. Hopefully they all are drafted.

Bruce got good grades from almost all services and scouts. Him being passed over is puzzling, but I understand him making the decision to come out based on his projections.

Whoever gets him tomorrow gets a steal.

Re: Bruce Ellington

The only player that made a mistake by leaving early was Hampton. With a great year he could have jumped up to a 2nd or 3rd round pick as opposed to being a 6th or 7th round pick. Sadly I think Quarles and Bruce came pretty close to maxing out their draft potential without a 1st Team All-American showing next year. Bruce torched it at the combine and still isn't being picked. Kelcy just wasn't going to test amazingly well at the combine and that was going to hurt him. If they believe they can make an NFL roster and get a 2nd contract then it makes sense to leave school because 1 round earlier (unless it is the 1st) does not come close to getting to the 2nd contract a year earlier financially. I wish all 3 came back but from a purely objective standpoint only Hampton should have.

Re: Bruce Ellington

Yep a little puzzling but not surprising. Bruce is a good WR in addition to his combine numbers I thought he might go in 3rd or 4th, maybe the whole basketball/football player has a little to do with it. I would have loved to see him enter as a football player and stay that way the whole time.
