College Football Enters New Era

It's nice to be identified as a contender. Chris Low is showing the Cocks some love.

He seems to like Clem's son also. I'll try to forgive him for that, someday!:kill:

I'd love to be in the playoff but we will see. Anything less than a host bowl would be a disappointment. Capital one is a great bowl but we've already been there twice in 3 years. Time to step it up one notch! :woo:

I think its great for our state. I have to admit to agreeing with FL being absent from the list; team still has issues and a very tough schedule.

It should be 16 teams, or at the very least 8.

I think they will make it 8 in a few years. 4 teams will work for a few years but not the best long term solution

Did anyone notice that the only Nike swoosh in the artwork/drawing from the article was on the jersey of a Carolina uniform?

We play four of the teams on Low's list of title contenders (A&M, Georgia, Auburn and Clemtech) . . .

I honestly don't understand the love for Clemson. Yes, I realize their defense should be good. I thought Clemson played pretty well defensively against us last year. However, their offense is gone. New QB, RB, WRs, OL. Last year, they just outscored everyone. They got a shot just because they are in the ACC but there is no way they are a legitimate contender for a top 4 spot.

As for us, we have the talent but I still think we have some questions that need to be answered. I think we are a better candidate than Clemson but wouldn't be shocked to see us finish somewhere between #10 - 15 this season.

i think clemson is actually going to be much better on D this year in comparison to their last few years... i think their offense is actually going to be much different I dont think they are going to score as much as they did this past year .. i could see them being a much more defensive team this season

And the font is wrong. ESPN hates us.

16 would be awesome. If it were last year, we woulda been the #9 seed, and played Mizzou again, then played winner of FSU and LSU

If Clemson can't develop a decent running game, they could be in for a long season. They should have a good D, but the Offense needs to keep the mistakes at a minimum.

I think 16 is too many. 8 is the perfect amount to ensure that every real championship contender is included in the playoff. After that you're just watering it down with teams who have no business making a national championship. I guess I don't want to see college football turn into the NFL where one regular season game isn't crucial as long as you make the cut for the playoffs. The elite should make the playoffs and it should mean something more than barely being inside the top 25.

This article was updated. They've narrowed it down to the last 8 and neither us or Clemson are in there.
