It's my friend Eric's, and its a legit bait shop... Minnows, three sizes, night crawlers, red worms, crickets, can drinks, snacks, along with a variety of terminal tackle. Offers zebco rental for 7 a day. And thank's for the compliments everyone!

Is there beer? You can't really have a fishing expedition, without beer.

Just kidding man, those are some pretty good ones, do you fish for catfish? That's really what I'm into.

I used to heavily. May target catfish 10 times a year.

Fished a little off the in-laws' dock this eve. Caught a few Striped Bass(tiny ones, like 3-4" long) off Earthworms... I guess I was fishing near a bed of them. Really love to fish, wish I knew more about it (like how to catch big ass bass like the ones in this thread)... Biggest one I have ever caught was maybe 2lbs.

Go to a golf course.

I love me some large mouth fishing but I'll take a day of spot tail fishing all day every day.

Big bass hunting takes a certain kind of person... you have fishermen/women, who catch numbers and here and there will pull a decent one out, and then you have trophy hunters, who target the big girls, and who fish for one, maybe two good bites in a day.

I got into big bass fishing after fishing for years catching whatever would bite. I still get an enjoyment from wetting a line and catching a bunch, but my objective these days is do my homework, learn the natural forage in a body of water, and match the hatch with large baits. I know you hear stories of the local kid catching a monster off a earthworm, but the cliche is still true... Big baits, big fish.

Like yesterday, I was throwing out a cast net at 5 in the morning for blueback herring. I would catch a ball of them, probably 20, and they would be about 6-7 inches long, and fat. That is primo bait for all sizes of bass, but mostly the big ones grab em up.

I use a net when I fish. The hook idea is gruesome. I throw them directly back into the water so they wont suffer in the open..

Hehe

Re: Bass Fishing spring 2014

Had a pretty successful spring. Largest bass was in the 7's, lots of 4's and 5's, couple 6's. Still looking for my elusive double digit, but I gotta feeling I may get it this year. If last year was any indication, my largest catches will be late summer to mid fall after the females have fattened up post spawn.
