Wow, that's big. I hope he watches the TAMU - SC game and gets a feel for the atmosphere at Carolina on gamedays. Also, seeing us beat a team so close to him can only pay dividends as well.

"Big time recruit from Texas"

I saw where GCC said a big time recruit from TX wants to visit USC. Anyone know who this recruit might be?

Re: "Big time recruit from Texas"

I'm guessing either the legacy lineman from TX or that top rated DB...

Re: "Big time recruit from Texas"

Eric Monroe perhaps? He is a DB out of TX....4* safety and regarded as the #1 safety for 2016 per 247...

Re: "Big time recruit from Texas"

Do you know how incredible it would be if we somehow went down to Houston in the middle of Aggie, Longhorn, and LSU land and grabbed a top flight safety? Wow... Let's hope it happens.

I remember a month ago seeing an interview with him saying he wanted to visit Columbia but couldn't recall his name.

Re: 2016 - Eric Monroe

Here's a little of an article on him on GCC today. Pulling a national recruit out of Texas is a long shot IMO.

Monroe would like to take an official visit to Columbia next year
"I'll probably take my visits at the end of my junior year going into my senior year," Monroe said. "I want to get more offers, like Florida State, Oregon, Auburn, and Clemson."

Already Monroe holds offers from Houston, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Notreda Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and LSU. His plan at this time is to take a full slate of official visits next year to the programs that will be in his top five. Even now, Monroe named four programs that he hopes to see on the official front next year.

"South Carolina, A&M, UCLA, and Ohio State," he said.

Currently, LSU and UCLA hold the edge for Monroe.
