His top five are Villanova, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Kansas State and us.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't end up at Villanova.

Maybe we're in it more than I thought.

USC basketball coach Frank Martin made 6-8 PF Chris Silva of Gabon, Africa a priority target this spring and followed him closely thru the various tournaments and events the last few months. As a result, Martin has earned an official visit from Silva and thus a chance to sign him in November.

Jamie Shaw at Verbal Commits says we trail for h behind Villanova and Seton Hall. Nova may prove too hard to get into however. Our tie to UA is helping us here. we have a shot if we get him on campus.

Things have cooled between him and Villanova. Likely to land at Seton Hall, but we'll know more after his visit.

No one really knows where Silva is leaning. Most are picking SH due to his connections in the program, but don't be surprised if he picks the gamecocks..

Per Phil Kornblut.....USC waits on the decision from Silva

6-8 Chris Silva of Gabon, Africa saw enough on his official visits to USC, Rhode Island and Seton Hall to know where he will go next after he finishes this season at Roselle Catholic in New Jersey. He will announce the decision Friday afternoon at 3:30.
Silva visited USC last weekend so it remains to be seen if the last place he saw will be the first place on his mind Friday.

"He loved the visit, loved the school," said Silva's coach Dave Boff. "Coach Martin and coach Figger did a great job of explaining what his role would be and how they would develop him as a player. He enjoyed the visits to all three schools. It's going to be a real tough decision."

Boff is expecting coaches from all three schools to get in to see Silva before Friday. He says his standout prospect knows what he's looking for in a college basketball program.

"It's the combination of things most kids look for," he said. "Playing time, being comfortable with the players and coaches and can I be developed. I think he's put himself in a situation where he can't make a bad decision."

Re: 2015 Chris Silva PF (6-9, 210)

Just to fill some folks in on what this guy brings to the table

He's going to play immediately. He's a great defender. Blocks shots, rebounds well. He's a guy that is going to be limited offensively, but has the athletic ability to make up for it, and should develop an offensive game in time. He's possibly the most athletic player in the 2015 class. Jumps out of the gym. He used to play soccer in Africa, but he'll definitely need to put on some weight as he's currently around 215 pounds.

He has bounce and length, but he lacks a certain degree of coordination with the ball in his hands. Jaylen Brown is the most athletic IMO, but this kid can really get up in a hurry. He has tremendous upside as a defender and rebounder. If he can break out of the "big man trance" that plague so many centers, he could be draft-worthy. Of course, this is based off of very limited highlight reels that I just looked up... so I don't really know jack. I'd be more excited about this big than any other we've landed in the last decade.
