The gulf between us and Clemson will continue to grow. Those of you that are complaining about our place in the SEC won't like the answer of how to close that gap.

Looks like they are higher after revenue - expense...

The actual financial statements can be found here, FYI....

It's interesting that men's bball made a profit. That wasn't the case last year, when the last of Darrin Horn's severance was paid (over $2 mill)

Tennessee where you make 111.5 Million but spend 110.2 Million.

10th in Revenue, 7th in spending...the Volunteer way!

Lol.

But I guess spending more is an advantage as you are reinvesting in your programs more than the competition (in theory).

Eric, does "contract buyout" fall into the realm of program reinvestments?!?

Coach Staley and Spurrier deserve another pay raise.

Wow. SC had a revenue of $21 million more than Clemson. To put that in context, USC's revenue was 130% of Clemsons. If I was a clemson fan, i'd be a lot more nervous about that difference than anything else.

Typically reinvestment is done by way of facilities which use bonds to finance. USC for example took out these bonds for athletics recently:

2008 - $27mill for baseball stadium
2010 - $65 mill for athletics village infrastructure, coach's building, academic enrichment center, tennis venue, farmer's market purchase and a parking garage for athletics.
2012 - farmer's market property renovation, softball stadium.

I'd say the extra was just a matter of making slightly more $ than they budgeted....not something to look at as an indicator of doing really really well.

I think it is...it means that USC will be better positioned to compete with the elite programs in the nation when it comes to facilities. And keep USC a step or two ahead of Clemson in this regard, which should be always important. And this doesn't even add the additional revenues that are projected from the forthcoming SEC Network...

I was referring to how much more CU "made" vs. USC in revenues over expenses.

Yeah Clemson ended up making a liiiiiiittle bit more money at the end of the year, but it's not like they have upgrades calculated into that. Although they plan to begin their upgrades soon and accrue some serious debt apparently.

I can tell you one way. Build more skyboxes at The Brice. All of the people who've been to places like The Swamp know exactly what I mean.

Isn't this going to be part of Phase 2? I thought we were going to add more boxes when we did the Plaza.

Under expenses..."Equipment, uniforms and supplies", it identifies a line item for "animal bedding and food" in the amount of $70,000.

Anyone have any idea what this is about? Sir Big Spur is the 1st thing that comes to mind, but as far as I know those folks don't get money from the university (unless that's changed).
