It's gonna be SO weird to root for Notre Dame to win a game.

True. Just like it will be weird to root for Georgia when they play Clemson

Wonder if by 2019, ND will have succumbed to "pressure" which would have them join the acc in football too?

I will pull for any SEC team over any ACC team. Go Dawgs. I hope Georgia hangs half a hundred on the convicts.

Only in football; however, they have a "deal" with the acc to pla at least 5 regular season games within the conference but will not be eligible for the acc championship game but will be eligible for the acc bowl tie-ins.

If you want to read about it: http://www.und.com/genrel/070113aac.html

Yes I know.

We are talking about football.

They're Independent

The thought of having to pull for Notre Dame sickens me. Oh well, we have to do it next season when they play Clemmy so at least we'll be used to it by then.

So an Independent can partake in a conference's bowl tie-ins, OK, the golden domers can have whatever title helps them feel better. The way I see it, they are acc pimps!

I could never pull for either of those teams. I just hope they show us their strengths and weaknesses.

Well independent is huge for them because it's difference between a lot of money.

Had they entered the ACC as a football team, say goodbye to the money they make from NBC, and bowl money they don't need to split.

Starting in 2014 they will give up a % of football revenue from a bowl game unless they make the playoffs, so if they use the ACC bowl tie ins they share a % of this revenue. The one thing I could not find in this agreement between the acc and notre dumb was home and away arrangement for the odd 5 games...

Which is rightfully so.

But they will only go to that Bowl Game if the ACC can't fill it/it's an ACCs tie in.

If it's a bowl that they already have a tie in to (like the Orange Bowl) they will get that money for themselves.

So for example, say FSU wins the ACC and does not make the playoff. They go to the Orange Bowl. They will play a team from the SEC, Big Ten or Notre Dame.

In the past ND also had their own tie ins to the Pinstripe Bowl and Champs sports bowl, don't know what it is this year.

No. They are the convicts. When they play UGA, they represent all things evil.

When they play Clemp, "Go Irish."
